Installing Drivers and Firmware (ZC300)

First, download the ZC300 firmware and Driver files from the icons on the right

Installing Firmware

On a computer running Windows 10, the steps to get to the screen shown on the right are as follows:

Once you have reached this screen, click on "Advanced Settings" in the upper right-hand corner (highlighted by the red arrow in image).

Click on "Firmware and Settings" under the "Configuration" tab

Here you should be able to see the current firmware version as well as an address bar for "Firmware Source".

Next to that address bar is a small blue file folder icon (red arrow is pointing to it). Click on this icon

After clicking on the icon, navigate to where you have downloaded the firmware file.

Click "OK"

Click "OK" again

NOTE - Do not turn off the printer during a firmware update, Zebra warns that serious damage could occur if this happens.

The printer will automatically reboot at the end of the firmware update process.

Installing Driver

The first step would be to download the driver for the ZC300. If you haven't already done that, the files are in the drive links provided at the top of this guide.

Find the location that you downloaded the driver file to and run it.

Click "Next"

Select the "Modify" option.

This screen may say "Install" instead of modify. Select that option if it is available.

Click on "Install USB Printer Drivers"

Follow the instructions on this screen, then Click "OK"

It is important that you only turn the printer on AFTER restarting the computer that you are using.

Accept the terms of the license agreement and hit "Next"

If you have never installed drivers on the computer you are using, there may be some extra screens between this one on the right and the previous screen. These will ask you to enter customer information and where you want the default directory for the printer to be. The directory of the printer should stay in the default location.

After that the driver install should start -->

DO NOT follow the instructions on this page as it pertains to turning the printer on. I am not sure why they have conflicting instructions within the same installation wizard but here we are.

Only turn the printer back on AFTER you have restarted the computer you are using.

Click on "Next"

Once you have completed the wizard, restart you computer and after you have logged back in, turn on the printer.
