SALESFORCE
Salesforce is a web-based CRM platform that Dorian has customized to manage sales, service and marketing information. Both sales & production have access to shared data for our accounts and customers. Changes are made in real time and instantly available across the company. With this software, we are able to collaborate, communicate, report & align with our teammates company-wide.
LOGGING IN
When logging into Salesforce, you’ll be prompted to enter your email address (user name) and password.
Salesforce requires multi-factor authentication (MFA). You will need one additional method of authentication when you login to Salesforce from your computer or mobile phone.
MFA can be a mobile app on your phone or a hardware security key you plug into your computer or your phone.
The most straightforward way to use MFA is to install the Salesforce Authenticator app on your mobile phone.
Take a picture of the QR code below with your phone to find the app in your app store.
If you don't want to use an app on your phone, we can ship a security device to you that plugs into your computer and will require either a USB-A or USB-C port.
If you forget your phone, you can contact helpdesk@dorianstudio.com to issue a temporary code.
LIGHTNING VIEW
In Lightning, pages are separated into Details and Related
The Details page is an overview of the object; an account, product, job, yearbook, etc.
The Related page ties in lists that provide information connected to the object; contacts, jobs, orders, dates, etc
At the top of each Salesforce page are tabs and links for navigating to major features in Salesforce
View and access other apps within Salesforce (1)
Click a tab to switch between objects and features (2)
Global Search Bar (3)
Perform a Global Action; allows you to log call details, create or update records, or send an email without leaving the page you’re on (4)
Access profile settings (5)
Within your profile settings you can:
Change your password
Customize how you see information on your pages
Customize your email settings (signature, name, setup automatic bcc)
Global Search Bar
When you click into the global search bar your most recent items will appear
As you start typing in the search box, you’ll see recent items that match your search criteria
If the correct record is displayed, you can click it at that time
If the correct record isn’t shown, you will click Enter to see a full list of results, broken down by object (an account, product, job, yearbook, etc)
Each object will show up to 5 search results, but you can click View All to see additional results
Once all results are shown, you can filter further using additional fields; an opportunity stage or account associated with a student’s name.
Lookup Search
A lookup search enables you to search and associate one record to another using a lookup field. For example, when associating a Contact with an Account, you would use the Account Name field to associate the two records together.
As you begin typing you’ll see instant results based on the record’s name.
If you do not not see the record you’re looking for, click the magnifying glass or hit Enter to do a full search.
Apps
Branch staff primarily work in the Sales app. This gives access to the parts of Salesforce that are needed for customer service, account management, and reporting.
Lab staff primarily work in the Production app. This gives access to the parts of Salesforce that are needed for production.
