ID CARDS
Dorian provides pictured identification cards to many of our accounts. Schools can customize the type of card, which data appears on the card, and which variable data is used (validations).
PIT FILES
The PIT file is what determines where specific pieces of data will appear on the card
This data is pulled from the fields populated in the TNJ
PNGs
The PNG is the graphic layer of an ID card
Each unique ID card type will have a separate PNG
TNJ
The TNJ is the database used to link data & images
TNJs are created prior to picture day after data is received from the school
TNJs read the "Background" field to pull the appropriate PNG for the ID card

VALIDATIONS
Validations are variable data that appears on an ID card. Typically these correlate to fees paid by the student that allows them certain privileges or access.
Validations can include, but are not limited to:
ASB
Early Release
Off Campus
Bus Routes
Validations can be handled one of the following ways:
Everyone Gets; in this scenario, you would populate the "Validation1" or "Validation2" column with "ASB", "OC" "NET", etc.
Hand Entered; this data is collected on picture day and entered into the TNJ by the photographer prior to taking the photo. A common scenario would be when ASB is sold on a summer registration day.
Stickered; we supply tamper-proof holographic stickers to the school so that they can add to ID cards as fees are paid
Pre-Loaded; data is solicited in advance of picture day and included with student data in the TNJ
Data is solicited separately from student & staff data and tracked in it's own column in Data Chase
Depending on the validation, there may be a separate contact that provides the list. That person's name should appear in the "Validation Contact" field in an account's Salesforce page and/or listed as a contact with their title listed as the data they provide.
While we aim to have data for picture day at least 2 weeks in advance, this is not always possible with validations. Schools may only start selling ASB 2 weeks prior for instance so validation data is typically received 1 week prior to picture day.
ID Card Packets
Each year the ID Card department generates new designs for the upcoming school year. Those designs are then proofed on an ID Card packet sent to the studio for approval and/or change requests. Tracking of the ID card approvals is done on the Trello board "ID Cards 20XX".
